Choosing your wedding hairstyle can sometimes be a challenge. You’ve got to consider your dress, accessories, the theme of your wedding, and last but not least…the weather. While some cities and countries have perfect weather for many hairstyles, others don’t, so here are a few wedding hair ideas that can help with your decision-making process.
Sleek Mohawk
This style has become my new favorite style to create for my brides. It’s bold, daring, and easily transfers from a ceremony to a reception style. A sleek mohawk can be done a few different ways and, with commercial hair added, can be great for all hair types and textures. If you sweat in your head, this would be a great style because your hair is pulled back into ponytails, and there is less chance for your natural hair to revert in hot or humid temperatures.

Beach Body Waves
This style has become a classic staple amongst brides over the past six years. When I created this style in 2019 for my Cabo bride Ashley, my suggestion was to get a sew-in (with a closure) because she had natural hair. My desti (destination) brides typically pick tropical places, and with the beautiful views of blue water and white sand come humidity and hot temperatures. Premium commercial hair will typically hold curls better than natural hair, allowing Ashley to wear this style for her outdoor beach wedding all day.

Braided Bun
Braided buns are one of those hairstyles that will be around forever. You just can’t go wrong with this style, and it is perfect for brides that get hot quickly and don’t want their hair sticking to their shoulders and back in an outdoor wedding setting. Braided buns are also a versatile updo because they can be worn for a beach or rustic wedding, pairing well with a strapless or sleeved gown.

I’m seeing more brides lean toward this style now than ever. As a matter of fact, I just did this style on a bride this past Thursday for her wedding. Sleek ponytail styles have crossed over to the wedding world because they are versatile, and brides can wear them low or even in a half-up half-down style. The ponytail you once wore in grade school has definitely evolved! If you're not planning to wear a veil, adding embellishments can add a little razzle-dazzle to your look. Worry less about your natural hair frizzing, and have more fun at your wedding with a sleek ponytail.

Pixie Cut
I’m in love with pixie cuts. I think they are so cute. Paired with the right dress and accessories, this beautiful style will be the added bonus you want for your look. This style can be worn both with or without a veil, but the beauty of this style is that it’s short enough to keep you cool. Sometimes having a ton of hair on your head (even if you purchased it and added it to your hair) can be hot. So going with a short haircut gives you a bit more freedom to do many things like finger waves or classic curls.
